How CDA is handling parking issues in Islamabad

With increasing traffic issues, the parking problems in Islamabad have become more and more prominent. The efforts have been made for years, and few paring plazas were constructed. Due to lack of planning, the plazas have not been very successful.

Luckily, Aamir Ali, the Chairman of CDA, announced that the work on six different multi-storey plazas would start from mid-August 2021. The parking plazas will solve one of the significant issues of the Federal capital of the country.

Easy accesses to loans and permanent jobs have made the life of a middle-class man in Islamabad easy. That is why they prefer to buy a convenient vehicle for themselves in easy installments rather than travelling in congested public transports.

According to the CDA report, there are around 350,000 vehicles in Islamabad, and the same numbers of vehicles regularly enter the city. The number increases on weekends, occasions and festivals, whereas the average ratio rises more in coming years.

The parking issues in Islamabad have become more chaotic in commercial areas like Blue Area and Jinnah Super Market. The news of parking plazas is a blessing for people working in the commercial sector of Islamabad.

Features of Parking Plazas:

Aamir Ali (Chairman of CDA) has announced the construction of 6 multi-storey plazas in different central commercial locations of the city. The plazas are going to be constructed on modern design and architecture. Three f the contemporary parking plazas will be at different points at Blue Area, then one F-8, F-10 and I-8, respectively.

Here are few features of parking plazas:

  • All of the parking plazas will be multi-storey buildings designed and built on a modern way of construction.

  • There will be at least five floors, and it can go high till eight floors for maximum parking space.

  • To ensure eco-friendly features, the rooftops will be reserved for gardening and green space.

  • There will be a mini-shopping mall, a cinema and food courts in every parking plaza.

Shopping malls are trendy, and Islamabad is not behind any city while following trends. It is essential that every shopping mall is built with a proper parking space in its basement so the major issues of parking in Islamabad can be resolved.
